Description

Visit Douglas/Agua Prieta! This tour offers an intimate look at the twin border towns of Douglas, Arizona, and Agua Prieta (affectionately known as “A.P.”), Mexico.

Departing from Tubac together in a van, we’ll stop in Bisbee for lunch, then continue to Douglas, where we’ll check into the famous Gadsden Hotel with its stunning Tiffany glass windows and elegant pink marble staircase.

After settling in, we’ll visit three fascinating spots in Douglas: the historical district, the “Art Car World" Museum (you have to see it to believe it), and “The Last Supper" Museum with hundreds of variations of DaVinci’s masterpiece.

After dinner and a good night’s sleep, we’ll cross "over the line" (across the border) to A.P. after breakfast, load a van provided by an enterprising nonprofit Rancho Feliz, to learn about their work with young people and housing. We’ll also see how this city cares for those who are migrating from or to the U.S., and end with a cup of coffee at Café Justo, a farm-to-table ministry of the Presbyterian Church. Return to Tubac in the early evening.

Tour fee: Members $350/Nonmember $450 - includes four meals, transportation, overnight lodging, guide services, and entry fees. You’ll want to bring some cash for snacks and souvenirs.

PASSPORT REQUIRED.
