Get ready to be delightedly surprised at the level and diversity of the epicurian offerings in Nogales, Sonora. We will meet at The Burger King (47 N Sonoita Ave) in Nogales, AZ at 8:30am for an orientation then walk together across the border to meet the Van which will drive us all around the city. Our first stop is NARANXA featuring fresh, organic juices (fruit, veggie, & protein). Our second stop will be Madera, at the far South end of Nogales, Sonora, a gourmet restaurant featuring organic, local fine dining, everything prepared daily "in-house". Next will be El Abisua, offering traditional Mexican cuisine. Then onto El Tule, which is within 2-3 miles from the border, their specialties are fresh chicharones, guacamole, carnitas, and fajitas. They also offer fine Cuban Rum! We'll end the day at Fray Marcos, 1 block off the border, for desserts and coffee. We will be served a set/pre-ordered specialty at each place. Camila, our bi-lingual guide, and the Manager or Chef of each place will describe what we are eating. All along the way Camila will be talking about the traditional diet of Sonora and the present epicurean evolution. The photos shown here are BCA's last Gastronomy Tour in April, 2025. We will be visiting the same places with the exception of one, 7 Mares, which is replaced by El Abisua. This is a full day of dining! Come hungry! You'll also have the opportunity to really get a full tour of the vast city of Nogales, Sonora as we drive from one end of the city to the other. We'll talk a little about the vibrant economics of the city.
CANCELLATION POLICY: Ten or more days prior to tour: full refund, less $25 cancellation fee; OR a credit for a future equivalent tour. Less than ten days before the tour: NO refunds; a credit for a future tour may be offered.
