February 12, 2026: Gastronomy Tour of Nogales, Sonora
Get ready to be delightedly surprised at the level and diversity of the epicurian offerings in Nogales, Sonora. We will visit and sample specialties from five restaurants. We partner with the Universidad Vizcaya Culinary School of Nogales to select a diverse range of eatieries. Camila, a graduate of the Culinary School, will be our bilingual guide. She and the Manager or Chef of each restaurant will describe what we are eating. All along the way Camila will be talking about the traditional diet of Sonora and the present epicurean evolution in Nogales. The photos shown here are BCA's last Gastronomy Tour in April, 2025. This is a full day of dining! Come hungry! You'll also have the opportunity to really get a full tour of the vast city of Nogales, Sonora as we drive from one end of the city to the other. We'll talk a little about the vibrant economics of the city.
We will meet at The Burger King (47 N Sonoita Ave) in Nogales, AZ at 8:30am for an orientation then walk together across the border to meet the van that will drive us all around the city. We will conclude around 5:30pm.
Tour fee: $140 for BCA members; $150 for non-members
Activity level: Some walking at a leisurely pace on uneven surfaces. Some stairs. Be advised that there are few sidewalks in Mexico and many potholes, extra caution must be taken.
Cancellation policy: On or before February 2: full refund (less $25 cancellation fee) OR a credit for a future equivalent tour. After February 2: NO refunds; a credit for a future tour may be offered
