Public Art Tour of Nogales, Sonora
Monday, February 22, 8:30am-4:30pm
Join us for our Public Art Tour of Nogales, Sonora. Travel by van to view no less than 10 art installations throughout the city of Nogales, Sonora. We will get out of the van at most of the sites to walk around and take in the art and the city. Our guide, Guadalupe Serrano is a prominent visual artist and sculptor based in Nogales, Sonora, Mexico and the director of the Museo de Arte de Nogales. He is best known for creating powerful public border art which reflects the socio-political realities of the US-Mexico border. He will tell the story of each of the murals/sculptures we visit and the artists. This will be a full-day tour including lunch in Nogales, Sonora.
We will meet at the Burger King in Nogales, Arizona at 8:30am to park your cars and have an orientation. We'll walk across the border together to meet our van and our tour guide.
Passport or Real ID Driver's License are required to re-enter the U.S. On this tour you will see how easy it is to cross the border and walk to many wonderful eateries, pharmacies, and dental/medical offices. We will send you an email 7-10 days prior to the tour with directions and more information.
